Who looks after your information

Browsing the website

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. To deliver pages and prevent abuse, it processes technical information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. We use this service for our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website.

We do not use advertising trackers, visitor profiling or optional analytics scripts. Artwork, fonts and scripts are served with the website. Format and marketplace choices are not saved as a browsing profile.

When you email Anna

Your message, email address and any name or other details you choose to include are used to respond to your enquiry and manage related correspondence. Our basis is the legitimate interest in answering readers, reviewers and publishing enquiries. Please include only information relevant to your enquiry.

Cloudflare forwards incoming mail to a private Microsoft-hosted inbox. Correspondence is kept while an enquiry or related publishing relationship remains active, and where needed to resolve a complaint or meet a legal obligation. Information no longer needed for those purposes should be deleted. You can contact Anna to ask about a particular message.

Sending an enquiry or buying a book does not subscribe you to marketing. Newsletter registration is not currently open; this notice will be updated before it opens.

Service providers

Cloudflare and Microsoft process information through international infrastructure, which may include locations outside the UK. Their notices explain their processing and safeguards: Cloudflare privacy policy and Microsoft privacy statement. Technical data is retained according to the relevant service’s operational and security requirements; the website does not keep a separate visitor database.

Buying through Amazon

Retailer links take you to Amazon, which handles your account, payment, delivery and returns under its own policies. This website does not collect payment details or receive your Amazon order information.

Your choices and rights
